Imarisha Sacco Inculcating saving culture among children at tender age through Parrot Account

In a bid to inculcate a saving culture among children aged 1-18 years, Imarisha Sacco has included Parrot account as one of their Savings Account products.
Through Parrot account, parents are given a chance to open an account for their children that earns annual interest for saved amount of Sh 5,000 and above.
After opening the account for their children, the parent can choose to make a direct deposit to the account anytime or place a standing order of a specific amount to be deducted and deposited to the account monthly.
The parrot account holder will also be given a parrot pouch to take home where they will be saving whatever money they get and take it to the bank for deposit into their account after it gets full.
According Alice Komingo, who opened the account for her daughter, it is the best financial decision she ever made.

Ms Komingoi said that through the parrot account she never encountered a lot of challenges in paying school fees for her daughter who is now a form three student.
“I am happy to have learnt about the parrot account on time. It has enabled me to pay school fees for my children smoothly. I want to encourage all the parents to open a parrot saving account for their children at Imarisha Sacco,” she said.
